MVQ ELASTOMER TUBES

MVQ MATERIAL – BLUE / RED / NATURAL (TRANSPARENT)

MVQ (Methyl Vinyl Silicone Rubber), commonly known as Silicone Rubber, is a high-performance elastomer widely used in sealing applications requiring resistance to extreme temperatures and aggressive environments. All MVQ grades are FDA-compliant, making them suitable for direct contact with food, drinking water, and pharmaceutical equipment.

MVQ silicone elastomers provide excellent resistance to aging, ozone, UV radiation, and weathering, while maintaining outstanding flexibility and elasticity over a wide temperature range – from –60 °C to +200 °C (short-term up to +230 °C).

  • Blue MVQ – primarily used in the food and pharmaceutical industries where visual detection and hygiene control are required.

  • Red MVQ – designed for high-temperature sealing applications, such as ovens, steam systems, and thermal equipment.

  • Natural (Transparent) MVQ – ideal for medical, pharmaceutical, and food-grade applications requiring purity, transparency, and neutral material behavior.

KEY ADVANTAGES OF MVQ SILICONE RUBBER

Wide temperature range

–60 °C to +200 °C, short-term up to +230 °C. Maintains flexibility and sealing performance under both low-temperature and high-temperature conditions.

Excellent resistance to weathering and UV exposure

Long-term durability in outdoor conditions. MVQ elastomers do not degrade under sunlight, ozone, or environmental aging, making them ideal for external use.

Chemical resistance

Excellent compatibility with hot water, steam, alkalis, acids, and detergents. Resistant to cleaning agents, making it suitable for food and pharmaceutical applications where hygiene is critical.

SUPERIOR WEATHERING AND OZONE RESISTANCE

Reliable in outdoor applications and under extreme environmental exposure. Withstands ozone and atmospheric influences without cracking or hardening.

FDA COMPLIANCE

All MVQ grades (Blue, Red, Natural/Transparent) comply with FDA CFR 177.2600 for food contact applications. This makes MVQ silicone a safe choice for the food industry, drinking water systems, medical equipment, and pharmaceutical applications.

COLOR CODING FOR INDUSTRIES

  • Blue MVQ – food and pharmaceutical industry, easy visual detection in hygienic environments.

  • Red MVQ – high-temperature sealing (steam, ovens, thermal equipment).

  • Natural (Transparent) MVQ – medical, laboratory, and cleanroom use, where purity and transparency are critical.

Applications

MVQ silicone elastomers (Blue, Red, Natural) are widely used in:
Good resistance
Water, hot water and steam up to +200 °C
Brake fluids based on glycol
Adipose and vegetable oils
Engine and transmission oils of aliphatic nature (including sulfur oils)
Fire-resistant pneumatic fluids HFD-R (phosphoric acid esters) and HFD-S (chlorinated hydrocarbons)
Dilute salt solutions, saline environments
Weathering, ozone, UV, outdoor exposure
Average resistance
Overheated steam up to 120 °C (only short-term sterilization possible)
Dilute acids and alkalis (depends on concentration)
Detergents and cleaning agents (long-term may reduce performance)
Polar solvents (limited resistance)
Alcohols and ketones (short-term contact)
Organic acids (short-term)
Low resistance
Aromatic mineral oils
Fuels (diesel, petrol, kerosene)
Silicone oils and grease
Aromatic hydrocarbons (toluene, benzol)
Low molecular weight chlorinated hydrocarbons (trichlorethylene)
Concentrated acids and alkalis
