PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) by ALPANA is a high-performance polymeric material known for its exceptional chemical inertness, thermal resistance, and record-low coefficient of friction among all engineering materials. Thanks to these properties, PTFE functions reliably where other polymers, metals, or elastomers fail — under exposure to acids, alkalis, solvents, extreme temperatures, or in applications requiring ultra-low friction and non-stick behavior.
The ALPANA PTFE range includes several optimized grades — PTFE-1, PTFE-2, PTFE-3, and PTFE-4 — each tailored for specific operating conditions. The base material can be modified with high-performance fillers such as bronze, carbon, glass fiber, graphite, and others, significantly enhancing mechanical strength, heat resistance, wear resistance, and dimensional stability. Thanks to its unique combination of versatility, durability, and functional properties, ALPANA’s PTFE is used in the most critical components and systems that require maximum resistance and precision in aggressive or extreme environments.
KEY FEATURES OF ALPANA PTFE
EXCEPTIONAL CHEMICAL RESISTANCE
PTFE is inert to all acids, alkalis, solvents, oils, and other aggressive substances. It does not react chemically and maintains its properties in any environment.
WIDE TEMPERATURE RANGE
Operational range: -200 °C to +260 °C. Suitable for cryogenic systems as well as high-temperature applications.
ULTRA-LOW FRICTION
One of the most non-stick and low-friction materials available. Reduces surface wear and improves system efficiency.
NON-STICK AND DIELECTRIC PROPERTIES
Does not adhere to other substances and does not accumulate static charge, making it ideal for electronics and instrumentation.
REINFORCEABLE WITH FILLERS
Fillers such as bronze, glass, and carbon can be added to significantly enhance mechanical performance and deformation resistance.
APPLICATIONS OF ALPANA PTFE
CHEMICAL AND PETROCHEMICAL INDUSTRY
Seals, gaskets, valve seats, and components in contact with aggressive liquids and gases.
PHARMACEUTICAL AND FOOD INDUSTRIES
Elements compliant with hygiene standards, chemically inert and safe for contact with sensitive products.
AUTOMOTIVE AND AEROSPACE
Bushings, support rings, and sliding components operating under high load and temperature.
ELECTRONICS AND INSTRUMENTATION
Insulators, dielectric gaskets, and shielding elements resistant to heat and electrical discharge.
PRECISION ENGINEERING
Low-friction components requiring stable motion and high positioning accuracy.
