COLOR – WHITE PA6 (POLYAMIDE 6)

PA6, also known as Polyamide 6 (nylon 6), is a high-performance engineering thermoplastic recognized for its excellent mechanical properties, including high strength, rigidity, and elasticity. Thanks to its outstanding versatility, PA6 plastic is widely used in the engineering and manufacturing sectors where durability, wear resistance, and reliable long-term performance are required.

One of the key advantages of PA6 material is its excellent wear resistance and good sliding properties, making it an ideal choice for dynamic applications such as PA6 bushings, PA6 seals, and guiding elements. Replacing metal parts with Polyamide 6 rods reduces noise, lowers weight, and improves the overall service life of equipment.

Polyamide 6 is compatible with mineral oils and various industrial fluids, which expands its use in sealing systems, mechanical engineering, and industrial components. However, PA6 has relatively low moisture resistance and may absorb water, which can lead to dimensional changes and reduced strength. For this reason, PA6 is best recommended for dry working conditions.

KEY ADVANTAGES OF PA6

WEAR AND SLIDING RESISTANCE

Excellent wear resistance and low friction make PA6 bushings and PA6 seals ideal for moving parts in hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

WIDE OPERATING TEMPERATURE RANGE

Standard operating range from –30 °C to +100 °C (short-term up to +120 °C), maintaining elasticity and dimensional stability under static and dynamic loads.

EXCELLENT MECHANICAL PROPERTIES

High tensile strength, rigidity, and dimensional stability ensure long-lasting durability of PA6 engineering plastics in demanding applications.

LIGHTWEIGHT ALTERNATIVE TO METALS

Replacing metals with Polyamide 6 rods and machined PA6 parts reduces overall weight, noise, and production costs.

DIMENSIONAL STABILITY

Ensures reliable performance in dry conditions, maintaining precision in assemblies and sealing systems.

Applications

PA6 plastic is widely used across multiple industries, including:
Good resistance
Mineral oils
Aliphatic hydrocarbons (propane, butane, petrol)
Lubricants and greases (without aggressive additives)
Fuels (diesel, kerosene, paraffin)
Esters (short-term contact)
Dry air up to +100 °C
Average resistance
Dilute acids (low concentration, room temperature)
Alcohols (ethanol, isopropanol)
Weak alkalis
Chlorinated hydrocarbons (limited resistance)
Glycol-based brake fluids
Silicone oils (may cause swelling over time)
Low resistance
Concentrated acids (sulfuric, hydrochloric, nitric)
Aromatic hydrocarbons (benzene, toluene, xylene)
Strong alkalis (sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide)
Phenols and cresols
Hot water, steam (long-term exposure)
Oxidizing agents (peroxides, ozone, strong oxidizers)
